Our clients depend on Maxim to provide a full range of comprehensive home healthcare services and specialized care in the comforting surroundings of home. As a Maxim homecare nurse, opportunities include both skilled nursing jobs and jobs as therapists, medical social workers, companions, and home health aides. Descriptions of some of the job duties are listed below:

Home health aides/CNAs:

Assisting with/performing activities of daily living such as:

• Bathing
• Hair care
• Skin care
• Oral hygiene
• Toileting
• Positioning/turning
• Ambulation and transfer activities
• Range of motion

Assisting with/performing independent activities of daily living such as:

• Meal preparation
• Assistance with feeding
• Maintaining a safe/clean environment
• Make/change bed linens
• Light housekeeping of client areas such as the client’s bedroom & bathroom
• Client laundry
• Use of basic infection control activities including hand washing
• Participate in education and inservices offered and/or provided by Maxim

LPNs:

• Perform skilled nursing, specific treatments, and medication administration as ordered on the plan of treatment to clients with complex medical and nursing needs, and across the age spectrum
• Support collaboration and participation in plans of care by educating, training, and supporting the client and caregivers
• Participate in coordination of care activities and patient care conferences
• Identify and follow through on new problems or changes in problems by notifying and collaborating with the Director of Clinical Services and other healthcare team members to determine the appropriate interventions needed
• Participate in ongoing professional education and inservices offered and/or provided by Maxim

RNs:

• Assess and supervise the delivery of nursing services to clients with complex medical and nursing needs, and across the age spectrum
• Prepare and coordinate clinical notes, activities, and services
• Facilitate and promote client/caregiver participation in education in order to promote return to optimal health status related to specific psychosocial and physical needs
• Support client/caregiver collaboration and participation in the plan of care by educating, training, and supporting the client and caregivers
• Participate in patient care conferences and multi-disciplinary team meetings
• Participate in the continuing review of services and performance improvement activities
• Perform skilled nursing, specific treatments, and medication administration as ordered on the plan of treatment
• Identify and follow through on new problems or changes in problems by notifying and collaborating with the Director of Clinical Services and other healthcare team members to determine the appropriate interventions needed
• Request modifications of orders and/or the plan of treatment based on the client’s clinical status and skilled nursing judgments
• Participate in ongoing professional education and inservices offered and/or provided by Maxim
